Aya Cash is set to make her West End debut in the Olivier-nominated production of "Giant," joining a star-studded cast led by John Lithgow, who portrays Roald Dahl.

The play, which premiered at the Royal Court in September 2024, delves into a significant period in Dahl’s life. It examines the summer of 1983 when the release of "The Witches" coincided with controversy over his explicitly antisemitic article. Set over one afternoon at Dahl’s family home, the drama centers on a heated confrontation that forces the author to decide between making a public apology or jeopardizing his reputation.

Cash, known for her roles in Amazon’s "The Boys" and HBO’s "The Franchise," will take on the role of U.S. publisher Jessie Stone in Mark Rosenblatt’s debut play. Tessa Bonham Jones, recognized from "Dune: Prophecy," will return as Hallie, completing the West End cast. The ensemble also includes John Lithgow, recently announced as Dumbledore in HBO’s upcoming "Harry Potter" series, alongside Olivier-winner Elliot Levey, Olivier nominee Rachael Stirling, and Richard Hope.

Directed by Nicholas Hytner, the production earned five Olivier nominations, including Best New Play, and will transfer to the Harold Pinter Theatre, starting from April 26.

The creative team behind "Giant" includes designer Bob Crowley, lighting designer Anna Watson, and sound designer Alexandra Faye Braithwaite. The West End production is lead produced by Brian and Dayna Lee, Stephanie Kramer and Nicole Kramer, Josh Fiedler and Robyn Goodman, and the Royal Court Theatre. Co-producers include Tilted Productions, FKP Productions, Delman Gracey, Stephanie P. McClelland, Jessica R. Jenen & Linda B. Rubin, Peter Stern & Tom Smedes, and Mark Rubinstein.

For Cash, this marks her first appearance in the West End, though she has extensive off-Broadway experience. She is also set to star in and executive produce "Vought Rising," a prequel series to "The Boys" for Prime Video, scheduled for 2025. Bonham Jones, who reprises her role from the Royal Court production, has additional credits including "A Midsummer Night’s Dream" at the Bridge Theatre and the series "Dune: Prophecy."
