Andre Onana is a professional football (soccer) player from Cameroon. He was born on April 2, 1996, in Nkol Ngok, Cameroon. Onana is primarily a goalkeeper and is known for his agility, shot-stopping abilities, and composure under pressure.

Onana began his youth career at the Samuel Eto'o Foundation, where he developed his skills as a goalkeeper. In 2010, he joined the youth academy of Barcelona in Spain, where he honed his abilities under the guidance of the renowned La Masia training system. However, Onana did not make any senior appearances for Barcelona's first team.

In 2015, Onana made a move to the Dutch club Ajax. He initially played for their reserve team, Jong Ajax, but quickly progressed to the senior squad. Onana became a key player for Ajax, contributing to their success in domestic competitions and their impressive performances in the UEFA Champions League.

During his time at Ajax, Onana showcased his skills and played a crucial role in the team's run to the UEFA Europa League final in the 2016-2017 season and their stunning run to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals in the 2018-2019 season. His performances earned him recognition as one of the most talented goalkeepers in European football.

Outside of club football, Onana has represented the Cameroonian national team. He made his senior international debut in 2016 and has since participated in several African Cup of Nations tournaments.

In February 2021, Onana was suspended from all football-related activities for 12 months by the UEFA disciplinary body after testing positive for a banned substance (Furosemide). However, Onana and Ajax appealed the decision, and in June 2021, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reduced his suspension to nine months, allowing him to resume playing from November 2021.
